The Park was built and designed with the camping traveler in mind, featuring a peaceful riverside setting. With modern facilities, free WiFi and great views, it is an ideal stop off point, between Abel Tasman and Picton to the West Coast and when travelling north from Franz Josef or the world famous Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki.

And there’s way more to do in Murchison than an hour will allow. The area has world-class Jetboating, amazing rafting, NZs longest Swingbridge, the wonder of the Natural Flames and easy access to two National Parks: the Kahurangi NP and the Nelson Lakes NP.

Friendly and welcoming site. Lady at reception took time to show us round the park. In a fantastic spot wieither River watching or swimming (if you’re brave enough!). Kitchen was really well laid out and felt very much like a home. Fire was lit without us asking (or paying). Toilets and showers spotless. Grounds immaculate and Barry the cat was a star.

Great Place to Stay – We spent 1 night here but completely fell in love with it. It’s situated right next to the river, and really beautifully landscaped with trees and shrubs all the way round. The communal kitchen means making up food is easy to do. It’s absolutely lovely.

Andrea – early 2024

We arrived by bicycle and had the most wonderful spot for our tent on green grass and under a beautiful tree. This is the best Camping spot on the South Island of NZ. Everything perfectly clean, well equipped kitchen with an oven to get cozy warm in the evening and morning. So much more to say, but you just should plan to stay here, at least for two nights. Also to enjoy the River and maybe, if it is season, the fresh vegetables you can buy from the owner. Thanks for making our day to rest so comfortable. Andrea, via Google Reviews

This was one of our favourite campsite stops in New Zealand when my partner and I travelled the country last November. The grounds were beautiful and the facilities were immaculate. Karen was very helpful and suggested activities to us. The WiFi strength was excellent (the best we had whilst travelling). The kitchen and conservatory were an added bonus – we enjoyed watching the sunset there whilst playing cards there. I would 100% recommend factoring in this campsite on your travels.

Rodders A – early 2024

What an awesome place! The hosts are amazing walking you around showing you the venue and the water pools that they have on site. The units are cool just what you need. Sandflys are abundant so bring some spray they will eat you alive. I will definitely be coming back here for more than one night’s stay!
